Great care was taken to allow the entry canopy to serve multiple functions. Not only does it mark entry; the canopy reinforces the primary way finding for the building and reaches out to engage the landscape.

INTRODUCTION

The Moore Foundation’s plans for the Continuum Campus were centered on serving students from across the underserved Pee Dee region. Under the guidance of philanthropist Darla Moore, a Lake City native, Florence Darlington Technical College (FDTC) and Francis Marion University (FMU) came together to create an innovative facility to benefit high school, college, and continuing education students through a variety of workforce education courses.
