Beau Clowney Architects, located in downtown Charleston, SC, is searching for an architect or intern architect to join our team.  Our collaborative studio environment allows individuals to work on all aspects of multiple projects directly with the managing partners.  We strive to provide thoughtful and sensible designs on a variety of projects located throughout the region and internationally. We work closely with our clients to provide innovative solutions with the end goal of crafting timeless structures.  We seek positive and inventive individuals to join us that have a passion for all types of design, from architecture to interiors, to art, and beyond.

Our work is primarily high-end residential, along with selective commercial and development projects.  Each project we undertake is marked by our inventive approach to design and our dedication to client satisfaction.  From initial concept through construction, we are working closely with the client to achieve the project goals.

All applicants must have an eye for detail, an understanding of the construction documentation process, and proficiency in computer drawing/modeling programs (Vectorworks preferred.) The ability to use freehand sketching as a bridge between ideas and documentation is a plus.  Collaborative skills and multi-tasking are also a requirement in our dynamic office environment.

Experienced Architect applicants should have

  • Minimum 5 years experience with an accredited degree (BS in Architecture, B.Arch or M.Arch.) Professional architectural licensure is a plus.
  • The ability to engage in owner meetings, discussions, and review board presentations
  • The ability to conceptualize and efficiently produce a thorough set of construction documents
  • The ability to manage/ mentor

Intern/Junior Architect applicants should have:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with an accredited degree (BS in Architecture, B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • A desire to learn and improve with a self-motivating personality
  • Client engagement skills
