MERIT AWARD / INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Socastee Elementary School

The color palette is elegant and sophisticated adding a nice balancing element to the richly complex variety of spaces/places in the commons.

Socastee Elementary School
DESCRIPTION

This school is designed to provide a modern school with a highly conducive learning environment in a building of minimizing energy use. To take advantage of natural lighting, all classrooms are sited on exterior walls, organized around the central two-story Commons/Learning Center. Collaboration areas extend out into this commons area which is daylit from a clerestory above. This daylighting also spills into the classrooms from the glassed interior walls.
