Task

With only the rarest exceptions, the least thoughtful piece of architecture on college campuses is the football stadium video board. Historically, the planning, massing, and cladding are afterthoughts driven totally by a “bigger is better” mindset. The Memorial Stadium video board concept at Clemson University aims to challenge that conventional thinking. Balancing competing goals to capture the history of the Clemson tradition while using modern architecture supported by the newest technology, the design creates a bold yet delicate new archetype for a weary campus icon which supports the goals of a game day event and the campus at large.
