Davis Architecture Professional Architect / Associate Architect

Davis Architecture, Inc. is a conscientious architectural firm with thirty years of service in South Carolina.  The firm is also licensed in 9 other states. We are expanding our staff to better serve new and existing clients. We are searching for an individual who is gifted with working in a team environment within the firm. It’s also important that this individual be motivated to engage with the local community as Davis Architecture embarks on its fourth decade of service.

The scope of services offered by Davis Architecture are as diverse as our client and project profiles.   Project types include an equal mix of commercial and residential clients.  Services are tailored to the needs of each client and are based on the complexity of each project.  Most projects include our services from the beginning of conceptual designs through the completion of the construction process.

We are currently seeking an Emerging Professional Architect/ Associate Architect who shares our passion for excellence and thoughtful design to join our collaborative studio and grow within our practice. The organization of the firm offers all staff the opportunity to become proficient in all aspects of architectural practice. You will have an opportunity to lead projects, individually or within a team, from start to finish.

Applicants should have 5-10 years of experience in an architectural office environment and be able to demonstrate strong design skills, a creative approach to difficult problems, and the ability to communicate ideas effectively. This position will require motivation to work independently with clients, contractors, and code review agencies to facilitate successful outcomes for each project.

Responsibilities

  • Development of projects design utilizing Revit.
  • Creation of visualization documents that successfully convey the spirit of the design to the client.
  • Collaboration with the project team and partners to develop construction documents that accurately reflect the design intent.
  • Possess the skills to organize tasks and coordinate multiple deadlines.
  • Active participation in meetings with the project team, consultants, and clients to discuss and develop the design.
  • Possess the skills to research zoning and code ordinances and incorporate those applicable guidelines to each project.
  • Participation and leadership in construction administration by making site visits and addressing technical issues with guidance from the project team.
  • Demonstrate competence when coordinating with engineering, consultants, clients, contractors, and building officials to meet overall project objectives.
  • Develop strong relationships within the firm, with our clients, and in our communities.
  • Willingness to participate in community activities with staff and outside organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture and 5-10 years of experience, license track preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Suite, MS Office is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience creating presentation documents.
  • Knowledge of spatial planning, ergonomics, and interior furnishings and materials.
  • Understanding of relevant codes such as NFPA, IBC, ANSI 117.1.
